Artist and sculptor Stephen Brown of Eaglehawk crafted the two metre by four metre steel work for the Arnold Street RSL, as well as artworks in Wycheproof and Lalbert.

Warracknabeal's RSL sub-branch secretary Richard McGinniss said the memorial, and the soon-to-come landscaping, was funded by a $9500 Veterans Affairs grant.

He also said Jamie Bell of Bells Farma Products donated the use of a crane, and gave his time at no cost to place the new memorial in time for Anzac Day.

It forms stage one of the RSL building's development, at what was once the town's kindergarten premises.

Warracknabeal RSL sub-branch has 36 members - mostly affiliate members due to their age or health.

The membership also includes veterans from the wars in Vietnam, Korea and Iraq.
