Ambulance Victoria community officers Sue and Megan Watts have given Warracknabeal Lions Club members an up-close look at the new automated external defibrillator (AED), and its case, which will be installed at their fauna and flora park.

The AED will be accessible to the community 24/7, and has been funded by Ambulance Victoria through the Heart Safe Community program, which is currently being promoted in Warracknabeal to educate the community in CPR, Call Push Shock, and the GoodSam app.

GoodSam alerts registered members of the public to someone in cardiac arrest who needs assistance, and lets people know where the closest AED is located.

Clubs, businesses, organisations, and private owners of AEDs are urged to make sure their device is registered at http://registermyaed.ambulance.vic.gov.au.

Any organisation or club that would like further free information and a demonstration of CPR and AED use can contact Sue Watts.
