Swimming pool upgrades are officially under way
The Hopetoun swimmers can expect to enjoy part of the new upgrades this summer, as the upgrade works for the swimming pool are officially under way.

The redevelopment project consists of two phases, with the first phase involving the construction of a DDA-compliant Family Change-room and the refurbishment of the existing change-rooms.
In contrast, the second phase consists of upgrade works to the main pool and toddler pool, including the installation of a new wet deck, an all-abilities access ramp, a pool slide, and rebuilding the balance tank.
Yarriambiack Shire Council chief executive Tammy Smith said the project has been designed for the community to enjoy this upcoming summer.
“The Hopetoun Swimming Pool Project has been split into the two phases in an effort to avoid delays that could affect the pool’s ability to be open during the upcoming summer,” she said.
“This is an important legacy project for the town of Hopetoun and the surrounding areas, providing a modern outdoor aquatics facility to enhance mental and physical health and wellbeing.”
The Phase One change-room construction and refurbishment work will commence on-site in September 2025, while the Phase Two pool works will commence in early 2026, following the conclusion of the peak pool activity period.
The Hopetoun Swimming Pool project has a total project cost of $1,358,676, with contributions from the state government through the Regional Community Sports Infrastructure Fund, Yarriambiack Shire Council, the Hopetoun Swimming Pool committee, and community donations.
