Strong turnout at Lake Marma for Murtoa by Twilight
Murtoa’s Lake Marma hosted a well-attended evening on Saturday night, December 13, with locals and visitors coming together for the Murtoa by Twilight community celebration.

One of the committee members and organiser, Emily Farrugia, said the event ran smoothly throughout the evening, with steady attendance.
“The event went great,” she said.
“I’m not great at crowd numbers because the crowd changes all night, but it was very well attended.”
Ms Farrugia said the event drew people not only from Murtoa but also from surrounding areas.
“It was from the wider community,” she said.
One of the biggest highlights of the night was Santa’s arrival, which proved popular with families.
“I would say Santa arriving on the firetruck was the highlight,” Emily said.
Children’s activities were busy for most of the evening, with several attractions keeping young attendees entertained.
“Young Expressions, the sandpit, the face painting, the reptile display, Kelly Sports, all those kids’ activities were very busy all night,” she said.
Ms Farrugia said more than 20 stalls were part of the event, adding to the festive atmosphere by the lake.
“I think we had about 23,” she said.
She thanked the community and supporters for backing the event and shared a message heading into the festive season.
“We thank the community for their support towards our event and also the businesses that we received donations from,” she said.
“Murtoa Events wishes everyone a Merry Christmas.”
Ms Farrugia also encouraged the community to attend the next local event planned at Lake Marma.
“We look forward to seeing everyone at a day by the Lake on New Year’s Eve at Lake Marma,” she said.
“We will have live music from 4.30 that day.”
