DIMBOOLA'S Brook Ward made her Greater Western Victoria Rebels Under 19s debut at the team’s first home game of the season.

The Under 19 Rebels team played the Western Jets at Mars Stadium on February 12 and were defeated 2.3.15 to the Jets’ 10.14.74.

Ward said it was unreal to be able to debut for the Under 19 side after playing games in the Rebels Futures team.

“I was a bit nervous in the beginning but it was a good experience and I got some kicks in,” she said.

Ward had seven disposals and two tackles throughout the game.

Dimboola local and Horsham Demons player Paige Glover had four disposals and four tackles for the game.

Ward said it was amazing to play with another Wimmera player in the Rebels.

“It was unreal and I had never played with Paige before so that was cool,” she said.

“The best part of the game was being out there with the older girls and learning from their experience and skills.”

Ward plays football for Ballarat Football Club and also trains with Dimboola Football Club when she can.

Turning 16 this year, Ward was one of four girls called up for their first game in the Under 19s.

Elise Cook, Chloe Walker and Olivia Wolter also played their debut game on Saturday.

Rebels talent operations lead Brooke Brown said the club would continue to reward girls with an opportunity to play at a NAB League level.

“These girls have worked hard throughout the preseason and shown consistency in the recent Futures games,” she said.

“These girls we believe deserve a crack at NAB League 19s.”
