Scouts finish the garden
The Rainbow Scout Group has successfully achieved their goal for the Jr Landcare Group by completing its garden at the Rainbow Neighbourhood House.

The native garden preparation involved several weeks of work, including weed removal, removing stones from the previous garden area, and raking leaves and debris.
Youth members and parents demonstrated enthusiasm and commitment to preparing the soil for planting.
We extend our appreciation to Gabby at Ismay's and Michelle from Desert Blooms, Dimboola, for their support.
A weed barrier was installed, and then youth members and parents worked together to clean and reposition the existing stones to create a pathway through the centre of the garden.
AJ Heinrich dropped off mulch, and our Cubs and Scouts created a production line to transport and lay the mulch over the weed mat.
We also acknowledge the assistance of the Thursday Men's Shed, who helped complete the weed mat installation and laying of mulch, enabling us to proceed with planting the following week.
Additionally, three youth members and two leaders visited Michelle at her shop in Dimboola to learn about native plants, with a focus on attracting butterflies and other insects.
Michelle provided valuable information about native and indigenous species and suggested propagating local native plants to enhance our garden.
Michelle visited us to advise on planting and techniques, and to instruct us on plant propagation.
We are hopeful that our efforts will result in healthy plants, allowing us to introduce more local native species into our garden next year.
Thank you to the local Rainbow Landcare Group for donating the tree guards.
This project has been a rewarding process, beginning with visits to local bushland, recording and identifying native species of flora and fauna and culminating in planting our garden.
We plan to host an opening event and informational day soon.
This project was made possible through a Jr Landcare grant and the dedicated efforts of everyone involved.
