The Roos are keen to record more wins in 2025 after claiming only three in 2024.

After a successful stint leading the reserve teams for several seasons, Toet has joined Andrew Moore, who boasts a wealth of experience at the highest level.

“To be able to work alongside Andrew this year is fantastic," he said.

Toet said continuity is the key for 2025, having kept most of their playing squad from last year.

“We've pretty much retained all the guys that we had last year.

“With Andrew Moore joining, he may have a couple of mates from SANFL.

“We’ll see what happens.”

In 2024, the Roos finished with a 3-13 record to finish seventh on the senior football ladder.

Despite going into the season with a similar squad, Toet is confident of winning more games in 2025.

“I definitely think we're capable of making finals, for sure,” he said.

“That's our goal.”

Part of that success comes from within, promoting more players from within the club and exposing them to senior football.

“One area where we struggled last year was our sort of lower tiered players,” Toet said.

“Probably we had too big a gap between our top four or five and our bottom four or five.

“We've been working on our juniors and some of those guys that played four, five or six games of seniors last year, to try and get them up to speed and get a bit more out of them.”

The club also welcomes Simon Hobbs, who previously played for Horsham and Kalkee.

“John O'Ross has come back this year too,” Toet said.

“He's played three or four years for us. He played back home in Mornington last year.

“That'll just help with having more like quality ball carriers around him.”
