Horsham Cup returns as a smashing success

Horsham Cup makes a big return as jockeys and guests hit the Horsham Racecourse.

THE 2022 Miller’s Horsham Cup has crowned King’s Charisma as Cup winner.

Trained by Ciaron Maher and David Eustace, and ridden by jockey Michael Poy, King’s Charisma won the Horsham Cup and $60,000 prize money on Sunday, October 16- the horse’s first win on Australian land since travelling from Europe.

The Horsham Cup was run as Race 7 of the day on a 2100m handicap.

Wetheimer took second place, trained by Matthew Enright and ridden by Alana Kelly, with High Ferocity, trained by Paul Presuker and ridden by Christine Puls, coming in third.

The Horsham Cup also hosted the fifth heart of the Melbourne Cup Carnival Country Series with Vasmee, trained by Nathan Dunn, and Realeza, trained by Gavin Bedggood, finishing in the top two respectively.

Both horses have now secured their sport in the Melbourne Cup Carnival Country Series Final on Oaks Day, and run a chance of winning the $500,000 prize.

The day also included several other races, live entertainment, Fashion on the Fields with caterers and on-course bars available around the track. West Side Tabaret was also open for attendees.
