The 2025 NGV Kids on Tour marks the largest ever program to date with more than 150 venues participating across metropolitan and outer metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria, including galleries, libraries, hospitals, migrant resource centres, community hubs and more.

Coinciding with the NGV’s summer exhibitions Yayoi Kusamaand Cats & Dogs, NGV Kids on Tour celebrates the work of local and international artists and designers as they draw inspiration from the colour and vibrancy of nature and the world around them.

NGV Kids on Tour also invites teenagers to learn about the creative practices of emerging artists and build skills for their own art portfolios through an activity developed with Gamilaroi Yinarr weaver and textile artist Sophie Honess.

There will be drop in sessions at all four libraries, Nhill, Dimboola, Rainbow and Jeparit, between January 6 and 24 during normal opening hours.

Activities will include designing a furry friend headband, lots of dots with Yayoi Kusama and bogong months with Deanne Gilson.

Facilitated sessions will also be available including fashion, culture and creativity with Collective Closets.

Sessions will be held at Nhill Library on January 13 at 10am, Dimboola Library and Customer Service Centre on January 14 at 10am, Jeparit Library and Customer Service Centre, January 15 at 9am and Rainbow Library and Customer Service Centre January 15 at 1pm

There will also be pompom making with Sophie Honess for teenagers.

This will run in Nhill Library on January 20 at 10am, Dimboola Library and Customer Service Centre on January 21 at 10am, Jeparit Library and Customer Service Centre on January 22 at 9am and Rainbow Library and Custoner Service Centre on January 22 at 1pm.
