Musical evening to delight Jeparit and Watchem
A intimate evening of music will be in Watchem and Jeparit this weekend.

ENJOY an intimate evening of songs and stories performed live and in the round on the last weekend of January.
Sing a Song of Sixpence is a singing and storytelling tour that will feature at venues in Jeparit and Watchem this weekend.
Event organiser and musician Delsinki said that the first four shows they played in regional town’s last week were fantastic.
“We played Mallauta, Archies Creek, Main Bridge and Summons and they were all really great … there was about 100 people at each show,” he said.
“Really great response from the audience and the players and musicians had a great time … it's been really great and really heartwarming.
“We're excited to see the people of Watchem and Jeparit and can't wait to get back up to the Wimmera.”
The name of the tour, “Sing a Song of Sixpence”, comes from an old nursery rhyme, named after the act of singing in a circle with each other.
The tour will be making its mark at Jeparit’s Hindmarsh Hotel on Saturday 29 and Watchem Church on Sunday 30.
Hindmarsh Hotel owner Gary Smith said meals are available before the music event, and recommends people to come down and try something different now that music events can come back to the region.
The tour was planned to be at the venue in August last year but had been cancelled due to COVID.
To book for a meal and view the menu you can message the Hindmarsh Live facebook page or call 0493 106 481 to book.
The Watchem Church will also be offering drinks and nibbles for spectators.
Both the Hindmarsh Hotel and Watchem Church will feature artists Abby Dobson, Freya Josephine Hollick and Grim Fawkner, accompanied by Cameron McKenzie.
For Delsinki and Donald’s Danny Walsh, it will be their return trip to the venues after performing successful shows throughout regional Victoria in the Keep the Circle Unbroken tour.
Delsinki said the new tour is more original material from the singer and songwriters.
“Last time it was songs inspired and paying homage to The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, old covers and a couple of originals … this (the new tour) is all original material,” he said.
“Everybodys playing guitar and vocals and Cam McKenzie will be playing electric guitar.
“People are a little bit worried about things … we want to let people know that we are doing our best to make it as COVID safe as possible.”
