Men charged after 1300 cannabis plants found at Wimmera property

Two men have been charged after police allegedly uncovered a large commercial quantity of cannabis at a rural property in the Wimmera.

Horsham Crime Investigation Unit detectives executed a search warrant at a property on Woorak-Ni Ni-Lorquon Road in Glenlee around 9.45am on Wednesday, July 31, where they located about 1300 cannabis plants.

Two men, aged 42 and 54, both from St Albans, were arrested at the scene and taken into custody.

They were later charged with cultivating a large commercial quantity of cannabis and theft.

The pair were scheduled to appear at the Ararat Magistrates' Court on Thursday, August 1.
