Major kitchen upgrade for sporting club
Completed just in time for the football and netball season to begin, Dimboola Sporting Club has seen a recent significant kitchen upgrade, allowing the club to cater for social activities and community events.

The home to the Dimboola Roos Football and Netball Club received a grant of more than $45,000 from round one of the Tiny Towns Fund, alongside other grants that helped fund the $80,000 project.
The upgrade saw the installation of a new oven and bain-maries, a commercial dishwasher, deep fryers, a twin-door fridge, display fridges, stainless steel benches and new sinks.
Before the upgrade, the kitchen was reaching the end of its lifespan with old equipment and appliances in various stages of disrepair and was no longer fit to cater for community events.
Construction began just after the league's grand final in September of last year.
Dimboola Football and Netball Club president Hayden Eldridge said the upgrade has given the club an opportunity to host other community groups for private and business functions.
“The kitchen upgrade has allowed our club to meet food and health and safety standards and assist our volunteers with Thursday and Saturday night meals," he said.
“Without the Tiny Towns grant this project would have taken many years to achieve."
Being the only large event space in town, Dimboola locals rely heavily on the club's home pavilion to host functions.
