Ladies' golf wraps up in wet and wild style
Wednesday August 27 saw only three ladies turn up to play. The others were on holidays or unwell or just plain busy.

Pam had driven through heavy showers of rain to get to Rainbow and once there she chickened out and chose not to play.
Stableford was the order of the day and nine holes was decided on.
Debbie our fearless leader and Joy, our veteran, braved the course playing holes one to nine.
As Pam had predicted, the rain came down when they were finishing the third hole – about as far from the clubhouse as you can be.
They persevered and fought the wind to made it back with only the one significant rain event during play.
Scores, though, indicated how slippery handgrips affect golf shots and also the difficulty of putting on wet scrapes.
They have asked me not to mention scores and as it was the last day I will not.
The club closing was held on Saturday August 30 with a mixed ambrose being played and then a lovely meal prepared by Helen Fisher and the presentation of trophies for the year.
The ladies' club champion Debbie Lowe received her trophy from vice-president Travis Clarke and captain Steve Leach.
Helen Fisher was presented with a trophy for the historic hole in one she had during the year.
Helen was quite emotional in her short speech about how much this trophy meant to her.
We would like to thank Wimmera Mallee News for publishing our results each week and keeping the community informed about golf antics in Rainbow.
We look forward to seeing more ladies on the course next year.
Our ladies' day out was held yesterday, Wednesday September 10, as a trip to Warracknabeal.
