In My Paddock: Adam Gould
IN MY PADDOCK: On our farm we have been busy rolling lentils, spraying grasses in lentils, spraying cereals for broadleaf’s and we have also been spreading all of our cereal crops with urea, getting ready for the Big Wet!!

The plan then when the paddocks (hopefully) dry out will be to finish off spraying the remaining grasses in lentils and I will start spraying brodol on lentils.
What has been challenging in the paddocks for us this season is the wind we experienced over summer and early in the cropping season.
This was a massive problem on some early sow sandhills because it was so dry for so long.
We had a lot of wildlife coming into our fields eating our crops and looking for water.
We are hoping that when it rains the wildlife will stay in the lake (Albacutya).
Now that winter has hit in a big way it’s been so cold that my crops haven’t really progressed much as yet.
What I expect, and hope to see is my crops boom when the day’s stretch out and we get some sunshine, ideally with a full profile of moisture!!
We also sold our last few hundred lambs out of our feedlot about a week or so ago before the big jump, but we can thankfully say it was still a profitable venture for us.
