Horsham players shine at masters Squash tournament
Players across Victoria and interstate travelled to Horsham on the weekend to compete in Horsham’s masters squash tournament.

The competition started on Friday evening and concluded on Sunday afternoon with the tournament finals, as Horsham Squash Club was represented by nine of its players.
Darren O’Neill, tournament director with the Victorian Masters Squash Association, says the tournament ran smoothly, praising Horsham for its support over the weekend.
“The people at the Horsham Squash Club, their hospitality was just great,” O’Neill said.
“Like many clubs, it’s about the volunteers, and they did exceptionally well.
“There was even a sign for the tournament in town, which was great to see.”
In addition to the competition, players attended a function at Horsham Golf Club on Saturday evening.
As well as thanking the golf club, the local council and sponsor Smiths Lane, O’Neill was pleased that the various players joined and celebrated together on Saturday night.
“Nearly everyone who came to the tournament attended the dinner, which was really good,” O’Neill said.
“As well as a sensational meal, a band called HeadRusH played.
With the tournament consisting of about 60 players, numerous Horsham players took home awards for their performances.
Max Decker was the Division 6 winner, Dale McMaster took out Division 7, Ruth Addlem was the Division 7 Plate winner, and Bryce Simpson was victorious in the Division 8 category.
