Churches host music Eisteddfod
The Horsham Church of Christ and the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church were once again blessed with the sound of music last week, over two full days of competition for the annual Wimmera Music Eisteddfod.

Around 180 competitors took to the stage on Friday, July 25, and Saturday, July 26, with audience numbers across both venues totalling just over 400 which saw good support for all morning, afternoon and evening sessions.
Horsham Church of Christ hosted the Vocal, Choir, Ensemble, Original Composition, Family Groups and VCE/Vet Music Performance disciplines, while the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church hosted the Piano and Strings disciplines.
More than 270 different pieces of music were performed which were adjudicated by Melissa Langton and Caroline Almote'.
The Alex Rathgeber Championship event was won by Esther Fry after she completed a 12 minute program featuring three contrasting vocal songs of advanced standard.
In Piano, the Ann Adler Memorial event was won by William Meyer, who presented two contrasting piano pieces of advanced standard.
One of our major supporters is the RM Showcase, who sponsor an award for The Most Promising Student in both Vocal and Piano.
The monetary prize was presented to Abbey O'Connor for vocals and Chloe Anstis for piano.
The WME Inc. expressed their thanks to all the support received from sponsors and volunteers.
"We acknowledge that without them, this event would not be possible," they said.
