The new jetty at Rainbow Lake is now in place with an all-abilities access path to be completed soon.

The 12-metre-long, 2.85-metre-wide structure is designed with all-abilities access in mind, featuring a safety rail around the perimeter and built-in rod holders for fishing enthusiasts.

Made from a galvanised steel frame and composite decking, the jetty is expected to require minimal maintenance.

Located at the southern end of the lake, it offers a safe and stable platform for fishing or simply taking in the scenic views.

The project is a result of joint funding from the Victorian Fisheries Authority's Large Grants Program, Hindmarsh Shire Council, and the dedicated volunteers of Rainbow Lake.

A temporary step currently separates the jetty from the surrounding ground level, and the Rainbow Lake committee plans to build a concrete footpath to ensure seamless and accessible entry for everyone.

"The construction of the accessible concrete footpath is part of a final stage and it will begin soon," said Chris Zadow, the committee president.

"We are hopeful that it will be completed by the end of this month."

The completion of the footpath construction will provide jetty access to all abilities.
